Hurricane Harvey

Post by Paul M »

We have quite a few members and friends in areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey, including hard hit Rockport, Corpus Christie and Houston, home to our President David Lehmann ... and this isn't going to be over for a while. Please stay safe!

I exchanged texts with David last night. He's OK, spent the afternoon on his boat plucking people out of the water.

Texas members, let us know how you are.
Thank you for posting about Dave. He was probably the first to respond. That guy has a huge heart. I have been very worried about everyone affected.

Big Lou McEachern is there too. Unfortunately, NPR is reporting that a levy in Columbia Lakes, where ORCAs 2005 convention was held, is overflowing and residents were evacuating.

News around here in WNY is reporting "a disaster of epic proportions". Hang tough all of you- it will pass- and things will heal. And David, you are a good person. My family's most sincere best wishes to all! We have family in Slidell, LA but at least so far, they have escaped flooding. Best--- Joe Walkowski (ORCA)

I was in touch with David Lehmann a short while ago. He remains dry and has been directly involved in boat rescues. Hats off to him and all the volunteers!

Old-time ORCAn Joe Klaus must be near the thick of things. He reported just wet street a couple days back but not sure what's up at present....anyone know?
