August 25 and August 30. Both at 22 inches and five pounds plus and both released unharmed.

Really nice pictures. I'm a newbie when it comes to reel identification. What kind of reels are they? That is what I want to do next, start using some of the vintage tackle I have collected. Do you use vintage line on them? I have some reels that had line on them when I got them but wasn't sure if I should if I should restring them or just see how they cast with whats on them. Do the older reels cast better with certain line on them? Sorry for all the questions.

Great pics and fish, Bill! Capt. Kirk, you've come to the right man with those questions! Wild Bill will get you fixed up! I'm guessing that's a Pflueger Akron in the top pic...not sure about that second one.

The top reel is a Pflueger SkilKast the lower one in the hard to find Shakespeare Presidential Sportcast. Top rod is a True Temper seemless tubular steel and the lower one is a Silaflex glass blade on a Heddon Handle.

Nice fish. I'd still be trying to get the backlash's untangled.

John I keep the grass mowed near the dock. Been trying to organize an ORCA "fishing camp" outing here using the YMCA Camp facilities. They have plenty of boats and a week or a few days with vintage tackle fishermen would be fun and inexpensive I believe. Warren was here last week and caught and released a 5 lb plus Largemouth on vitage tackle !

I'm in! We gotta do that! How about sponsoring the 2013 National? There are plenty of guys that would help out and it would be new coverage area for us!

WOW Great picture! Looks like a good place to watch the sunset and maybe have a couple catfish lines out.

I like fishing for them also but just catch and release. No natural lakes around here in fact I have never fished one besides some oxbows on the Illinois and Mississippi. Beautiful place you have.
