Great fishing trip to River Em in Sweden

Post by Jacob : salmonfisher03 »

Back again after another great fishing trip.
This time I fished the river Em in Sweden together with 3 german friends :fished

Enjoy the photos from a great trip with some big fish :D

The Home Pool with the house behind, were we stayed.

My friend fighting a big salmon in Home Pool

The salmon was 112 cm long - released just after this photo was made.

"Garage nakken" this is a very good place to fish

The last evening I went to a pool called Stone pool. All others was fishing on the lower part of the river.
And then I had the "take" from a big fish, and no one to help me landing this fish.

The biggest seatrout I ever caught - 91 cm long and approx 9,5 kg.
It was caught on a small fly called Fiery Brown (size 8)
I released the fish just after this photo.

Morning haze

My friend ready to fish a pool on the lower part of the river. You see the sea in the horizon .

Our reels and rods - ready for some action

The weather was good in the evening, and a hole day fishing makes you hungry, so nice with a good BBQ

Best news of all is you have three friends! Maybe more than me. I would put the picture of your big fish in a frame and hang it on the livingroom wall. Against the wife's objection of course. As always, thanks for sharing.
Did you catch that fish using a Bogdan Reel? Probably why I can't catch fish, or perhaps it's because I'm not a very good fisherman. Jon

Thanks, I'm happy that you like the photos.

Mark, tell me when you are ready to come and fish for seatrout :fished I will guide you.

Jon, yes I'm Lucky to have 3 friends, but I nearly lost them after I caught my fish :D
And the reel was a Bogdan reel.

The line-up I used was: Gary Loomis GLX Stinger 12'6" rod, with my Bogdan 100 reel and a floating line with intermediate tip and a small Fiery Brown fly.

End of october I will make the last trip for 2014. I hope that I can show you some photos again with fish, if not you have to be content with the landscape from Scotland.

Jacob,
That is a magnificent Sea Trout!! Congratulations on catching and releasing such a fine fish! Your friend's salmon is also a wonderful catch.
What is the best time of the year to fish this river and what arrangements must be made (where to stay, permission/permits to fish, etc.).
