Two very happy girls

Post by Bill Sonnett »

Took 14 kids (two at a time) fishing last week. These two girls are both 10 years old. They hooked and landed (and released) this 21 inch bass by themselves in my boat. Don't know who was more excited, them or me. All 14 kids managed to land bass. I will never forget the looks on their faces. More fun than fishing with Warren LOL

It is a wonderful and commendable thing that you are doing taking those kids fishing. I am sure that they will always remember the trip and you for taking them. Let me add my thanks to those that you received from those children.

Bill, I'll trade you Roger and Dave for those two girls. They're better looking and they catch bigger fish. The only requirement is that they bring muffins.

I'd be smiling if I ever caught a big one like that too! I always knew you were a nice guy, Bill.

Just a few words about Bill Sonnett. I first met Bill at a NFLCC National Meet in the late 1980s, we had lunch and visited for over an hour that first day and I've counted him as a great friend ever since. We have so much fun together that I often wish I could be having the same experience with my only brother that we lost when I was twenty years old.

Along with two friends and Bill, I spent most of the next week on the same lake that Bill took all those kids fishing. He was dead tired but emotionally high as a kite while telling us about every one of them casting and catching, in most cases, a number of bass. Divine intervention is the only explanation I can come up with! Bill had also spent a full day working with the kids on casting skills before hitting the water.

During the time we've been friends, I can't think of anyone that has given more of their time to others than Bill has. Nuf said.
