Landlubber Goes to Sea

Post by Brian F. »

A friend of mine asked if I wanted to go "Holo holo" (on a trip, usually meaning fishing) this past Saturday. I was looking forward to my first trolling expedition and I know this friend can catch fish so I jumped. Yes, hard to believe that I've lived here all my life but never went trolling before. I'm still rocking and a rolling but at least we got some fresh fish for dinner. Chased a lot of birds and through the skills of my friend, found some finney friends. The bigger mahimahi went 28 lbs but I was especially happy about the 10 lb aku (skipjack tuna) - have not had aku sashimi for a long while. We missed a couple of ono (wahoo) too and that was a real bummer - I really like that fish too.
