Guadalupe tailrace
I haven't been posting these, but we have some big trout in the Guadalupe this winter
but this was too much fun to leave out...
took my 15-y-o daughter to her favorite spot today.
She caught two fine trout - on her favorite fly - a beadhead soft hackle tellico - the same fly that she caught trout on last year - not the same pattern, but the same fly.
It was the wrong size to imitate anything, but it always works for her.
Me, I was fishing my two best emergers together, and I caught a smallie and a bluegill on the BWO dropper.

Insane Jealousy
Fly fishing in January ! You drive me crazy, with jealousy I`ve got snow piled to 5 foot high, man you know how to hurt a guy. That one `bow
looks about 4 lbs. nice hook jawed male. Oh well, keep it up the least I
can do is enjoy your efforts. Thank you Ron.

while it started off brisk (for here) - upper 20s (ice glaze on the winshield) - and dry as a bone - it warmed up to the low 70s yesterday. In fact, by the time we parked at the river, I was already shedding a layer.
We have some dues paying days, too - mid 30s with a 70+% RH.
If we ever get freeze and precipitation combined, it's always an ice storm - every dozen years or so when we get snow accumulation, there will be an inch of ice beneath it.

We have about 10 miles of "special regulation" where where only one fish over 18" can be kept. But since access is all private, our TU chapter has lease access to 15 sites and we require catch and release of our members.
John, I know a guy that has a house on the river for sale - think of the value of your equity here...
