call me crazy

I sold this reel

Image

it was for a good cause - I used the money for several things, one of which was a Pflueger Golden West on ebay at a third of its value.

I fished the reel. I sold it with the intention of lining this one - it's the same size and holds a DT6

The reel is about 68 years old, give or take a year.

And today, it caught its first fish.

and again (and again, etc)

my buddies were there

they liked the place, too

see?

waiting 68 years to go fishing?
I think it's a monumental day

The first fish was on the first cast of the morning, the first time the reel had ever been fished, and the first time its pawl had ever roared in anger.

Hello down there Ron:

Beautiful. Everything is beautiful.

And by the way, if you were to enroll your fine reel in an anger management class, that should cure this problem.

no helping this reel - it's been waiting too long to roar.
It had finish wear from being in the box.

I did seal it with Boeshield hopefully to prevent filiform corrosion of the finish (look at the one I sold).

But the reel I sold has a happy new life fishing the Bow River in Alberta.
