My buddy Rob was down from Dallas, staying with his wife at a B&B in Blanco. I picked him up Saturday morning, and brought him back to Rebecca's Creek
Yes, I took him to the waterfall - you come visit me, I'll take you there, too.
The light was splendid
I told Rob, I can't fish, the photography is too good.
You knew better, anyway.
I ended up squatting on a rock, casting parallel to the plunge, counting down, then watching a half-dozen Guadalupe bass follow my fly back in.
And sometimes...
Coming back down - Rob's hooked up here.
Check out the trico hatch.
My bass from the giant cypress at the tailout of the big pool.
The view down Snake Island
Rob on the last gravel bar.
I told him to fish this pool before he waded down there.
I could see the bass turning to feed in the bottom of the pool.
Y'all come back now.
Rob was fishing one of his cane builds, a very nice 6-wt. 7'9" semi-parabolic rod, with a c. '40s Medalist.
I was fishing my Vince Cummings Water Witch glass rod with my early 30s click-pawl Medalist.
it was a great day for photography
