44 in. Northern I caught thru the Ice

Post by Robin Sayler »

Hows this for a nice winter Pike? He went just over 44 inches and a hair over 25 lbs. I managed to get him up thru an 8 inch hole after gaffing him in the chin below the ice. After letting many many pike in the 20lb size range go this one I kept to put on the wall.

Thanks guys. I grew the beard because next week I'll be in northern ontario ice fishing and last year it was COLD. I figure this year I'll go prepared and bring my built in face warmer! :D

That's two years in a row that you have dwarfed my best ice fishing catch. I would be bitter if that wasn't such a nice fish!
