I have avery good friend I have been fishing with for years. He's younger than I am, has a PT job and lives to fish, hunt and take pics.

I won't see him most of the winter and when Summer comes around all we do is fish. I just got a portable Hardrive so nowI canshow offthe fish we have caught and how beautiful his Photography has gotten.

I hope I don't flood this part of the forum. These pics I will post a few at a time were all takenby my fishin bud.

Mike:

Beautiful indeed! You need not give away the precise location of your favorite fishing holes. Could you tell us the general area where the stream in the upper photo is located?

We live in S.W. Washington in the Cowlitz River area.

The other side of the mountain...

Well Mike, when you want to get out of town you don't fool around. And from the looks of those photos, the drive is worth the effort.

Great stuff over there. Thanks to you and your fishing partner, and keep the pictures coming.

Oh, there is lots of messing around and lots of small fish compared to the big ones. I am lucky to have a buddy that is not afraid to beat the crap out of his boat. We have used block and tackle to pull his boat over many a log jam but that does let us fish water nobody else fishes.

Mike:

Yes, logs are a bit of an obstacle in most streams here in Washington. Several years ago a friend took my wife and I to one of his favorite fly fishing streams, and while we did catch quite a few beautiful smaller Cutthroats, we got a real workout climbing up and around, and over and/or under an almost endless tangle of downed tree parts.

Now in our advancing years, we tend to look for more geezer (and geezerette) friendly fishing holes.

Great photos Mike.
