Weather map for the impending snow storm in Buffalo NY this weekend. And yep- the Bills have a playoff game at HOME on Sunday! The storm looks like The Bills "charging Buffalo" logo! Has to be legitimate... I got it off the internet! Go Bills! Best--- JoeW (I live right about where the "2" in 20 inches is!

Not sure this is the best way to determine playoff winners. Have to give the edge to the teams that practice in this weather. Will be interesting to say the least.

Only 3 of the NFL's domed stadiums are in cities where sane people might expect snow in the winter.

Well, that's why the teams take playing for home field advantage so seriously! Then again, Buffalo wouldn't be used to playing in 88 degree weather with 80% humidity, either.

Buffalo has started building a new stadium. No dome this time either! Too expensive, and I guess they figure a dome wouldn't help the fans get there through a blizzard anyhow.

Game has been postponed until Monday because of the storm! Travel BAN going into effect for WNY starting this evening. Crazy Buffalo mafia would drive though anything to see a game!

All I can say is may the best team win... (Bills, of course!) Best--- JoeW

Snow depth ranges from 0" to 24" depending on where the wind gets a chance to dump it! That's not fog in the pic- that's snow going sideways! Bills game tomorrow? LOL! I doubt it! 24 hours and I'm getting tired of this- the scene doesn't change! At least I've got old fishing tackle to play with! Best--- JoeW

Hang in there Joe. No snow here (NW PA), but into single digit tonight. I've got some old reels to tinker with too, a glass rod to wrap, and some hair jigs and big bass/musky poppers to tie up... Guess I'll survive.

"Un-BILL-ievable! Yesterday at 6 PM, snow and high winds stopped! Like someone flipped am "off" switch- that quick! This AM- sunshine (although temps are in the teens!). Road crews worked all night, roads are good! Buffalo IS ready for such minor inconveniences! We got about 18" of snow- areas 10 miles away got up to 4 feet!

Bills game WILL go on today at 4:30! I never would have thunk it possible, but they hired anyone who wanted $20/hr to shovel and snow blow the stadium seats clear- all night and this AM! I'm sure someone is busy working on a giant snowman football player with a "17" sprayed on it! Go Bills!

Paul: I was born and raised in NW PA-- Oil City! I don't remember ever seeing a snow plow down there! Have fun all! Best--- JoeW

Hi Tom--- Thanks for the condolences. That's what happens when your teen is so beat up that even the backups are playing hurt. The going question around Buffalo today is "What do you call a cold snowy day in Buffalo without the Bills?". Ans: A cold snowy day.

Just to put a happy note at the ending here. Seems that Tyler Bass (the Bills' kicker who missed that field goal at the end of the Bills/KC game) was getting some nasty criticism on the phone, on the streets, etc. and was feeling pretty low. Some kind hearted fans wanted to do something to cheer him up, like make a contribution to his favorite charity. Word got out that he was a cat fancier and that his favorite non-profit was the "Ten Lives Club" in Buffalo. It's a cat clinic, shelter, adoption service, etc. Someone called and asked what a suitable contribution might be and a worker there said maybe $22 or any amount with a 2 in it (Tyler's jersey number is "2"). In the first 24 hrs. they raised $2000! Today, that sum has topped $300,000! Yes $300,000! The power of the news channels and social media! Many contributions from Kansas City and probably across the NFL! Some very gracious football fans around. It was just a bad kick, Tyler, but the repercussions did a lot of good for a worthy cause!
