Summit black and white marbled crank

Post by mark bumgarner »

WTB crank handle for 1929 or 1930 Summit. Believe we determined the grips should be black and white marbled.

Is this it? If so, you can have it. It's not in perfect shape and needs cleaning.

Oh thanks Ron, but it would be the engraved crank handle. Really appreciate your generosity. Here is a pic of the crank handle I am looking for. Thanks again and keep looking all!

Thanks for the try, Ron, Paul and John. (sounds like a music group) I will keep looking, see a few reel on e-bay with correct crank but then I will still have a reel (one or the other) without a crank.
John that is a beautiful oak leaf crank! I have several Bronson reels, Silver Princess, Sport Pal and Blue Herrin with a leaf print crank pictured below but have not seen that oak leaf design, INTERESTING. That oak leaf crank sure looks Bronson and dimensions are same as on reel below. I will have to do some investigating.

Thanks again ALL

"INVESTIGATION CLOSED !" Your crank handle is in fact Bronson, John. Guess I had seen it and just forgot, went down to basement and found it on a Sears Mohawk, made by Bronson. This reel is not in the best condition (yet) but will show detail good enough.

The engraving/stamping on those Bronson’s sure are wonderful.

True enough, Paul! I used to have both the Reel-O- Mine and the Silver Princess and they are both beautiful reels… and 5x the quality of anything else Bronson produced! I’m still wondering why i let those go!

Would it be either of these?
The left reel is in pretty good shape for a donor, but I think the handles are a bit faded and may not be correct for the period. The right one is in as found condition and very dirty, but it's also a bit corroded.

Thanks for your efforts! I think these handles are later, but will defer to the experts out their, we determined my reel is late 29 or 30. If you think the handle on the left is time period correct I am interested, although it seems we would be robbing Peter to pay Paul.
What say the wise ones?
Thanks Again
