Hi team.
I have been looking (unsuccessfully) for a Meek #3 for a bit now. Earlier today I was offered a BC Milam & Son Rustic #3 that is in outstanding condition. I am comfortable with the fly reel world but these Kentucky reels are a whole new world for me. The offer is for 405 USD. I have no idea if this is in the right ballpark, a wonderful deal or badly overpriced. If any of you more sage members cares to comment it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and regards.

The Rustic #3 is not really a Milam and Sons. It was made by Shakespeare for them, a mass produced reel. This reel value is usually in the $300 range when it is in excellent condition. Many of the parts of this reel can be exchanged with early Shakespeare. I hope this helps. Andy
