Marquette MAR-100 reel.......
We just got back from a 3 week trip and I picked one of these reels up in KS. It is marked. See through red side plates. I need to clean it a bit. It seems to work OK and all the parts appear to be there.
the last thread I found was in 2010 and didn't have a lot of info. Can anyone shed any info as to date and value.
If anyone wants it let me know.
Thanks
Jerry

Jerry,
The answer to your question may well be in the library item mentioned in the 1744 question.

Got it Don. I really don't want to order a bunch of stuff to just find a date. I collect Pflueger and have bought most of the Pflueger items you have except for the ones I donated.
Thanks for your time.

I've come across 2 of these reels....I also have no idea what is meant by the
"1744 question" - what library & how is it accesed? If any of ya'll out there know what that means, please post.
the reels were each on steel rods in good shape (well, the cork handle on one
needs to be replaced but that's an easy fix).

Re: Marquette MAR-100 reel.......
Hi Jerry, here's some info from the ORCA Reel Makers web page:
PRECISIONBILT
PRECISIONBILT, a reel maker in Hollydale, CA they made 5 different reels, some having the see-thru-plastic side plates in the 1950s, The Mosquito and the Silver Moth were both fly reels, the Marquette Mod. Mar 100, a 100 yd. reel made of the see thru plastic and stainless steel. Also two salt water reels the Ensanada Mod.ER ( ER meaning Ensanada reel) and the Key West Mod.KWR (KWR meaning Key West reel).
I need some parts for one I have, so feel free to PM or email me.
Cheers,
George
