Zangi Delfino- vintage salt water

Post by Paul M »

A message from Sergio Di Marco (via Google Translation from Italian):

I write to you to report the update of my card on the reel "ZANGI Delfino" in the website ANTIPES.IT ...
This reel was marketed in the USA, starting in the mid-1950s, by the H-I company (HORROCKS-IBBOTSON Co. Utica, NewYork).
In the technical sheet you will also find the technical description in English and France, in addition to the "Parts List", to the H-I price list in US dollars all obtained from a rare leaflets recovered only last April in the USA!
I hope it can also interest the collectors associated ORCA.

Here is the web link:

( Use Google Chrome to see the text translated from Italian to whatever language you prefer).

“Resto a disposizione”
Best wishes from Italy.

=================

Ciao Paul,

Resto a disposizione.
Un caro saluto dall'Italia.

From Horrocks-Ibbotson's 1957 catalog, described as "new" and selling for a whopping $46.20.

Comment from Sergio:

Paul
thanks for the precious collaboration....
as reported by his friend Mark is very important and I immediately updated my data sheet on the ANTIPES.IT website.
In Italy, this model was available already at the end of 1955 / beginning of 1956, probably the following year in the price lists for the US market!
I would like to ask Mark if I can use the image he has posted as well as know if his old catalog has more models produced in Italy besides the Delfino Zangi and the Nettuno P8!
Best wishes
Sergio

Sergio,
Please feel free to use the catalog images as you like. They belong to us all. Also, there are no other listings in the catalog for Italian-made reels.
