Help Identifying this Tournament reel
I picked up this tournament reel , it has all the looks of a Shakespeare reel but it is unmarked. The reel has a 4 to 1 gear ratio, beautiful knurled German silver grease caps, aluminum spool, free spool and seven screws on the back plate. Any Ideas?

D.A.M. They often look like Shakespeare reels. Germany. Colby

I like this model, whatever it is. It seems to have a "NO" lever, incase you try to do something stupid.
Like those Kentucky style reels
Re: Help Identifying this Tournament reel
What a great reel. My guess is Shakespeare maker based upon the black rim band and grasps. Obviously an upgraded (Talbot engraved aftermarket ?) handle.

Re: Help Identifying this Tournament reel
I had the same thoughts that it might be a Shakespeare reel. I have not seen a D.A.M. bait casting reel, so does any one have one that looks like this reel and could show us it. Thanks

Kind of reminds me a little of a Dam Ever Ready Gerat, although not exactly the same. I know I've seen that similarly engraved handle on earlier Dam casting reels.

Interesting that the board no longer notifies a person when someone has posted while they are writing a reply. You hadn't posted that comment and pics when I started my post, Colby, and the board didn't notify me about the new post when I submitted, otherwise I wouldn't have posted what I did.colby sorrells wrote:That's how the black reel above is marked. I wonder what happened to that feature? It has happened to me a couple of times in the last few months.

No problem here, Tom. Just didn't know if you could see it or not. Just trying to help out where I can. Colby

Cool reels and catalog. Any idea of the vintage?
