Stafford Reel - Penn Knockoff?

Post by GabbyT »

Anyone have any info on this company? Reel is obviously a Penn 4/0 knockoff but seems to have some quality to it. Box gives no info as to where it was made and reel is not marked as such. Internet search didn't turn up anything other than a couple of old pictures

a reference from 2016, not a positive one - I'd say the timing fits the packaging.

Thanks for the link. Quite an interesting and varied history lol. The one thing on the box that said foreign made to me was the notation that the reel has a “heavy duty bait alarm”. I do enjoy the looks of it and it is quite hefty. I’m not keeping it so we will see what the market is soon.
