Fly Fishing Treasures by Steve Woit...Lots of ORCAns!

Post by john elder »

Just got my copy of "Fly Fishing Treasures", the world of Fly Fishing and Collecting" and it is beautiful book full of info and great pics of fly tackle, including all facets of the sport. The book highlights the extensive contributions of an abundance of highly regarded ORCA members, including Jim Brown (classic reels), Jerry Girard (Rods and historic papers), John Ganung (Auction contributions), Jim schottenham (side-mount fly reels), and Dean Smith (Reels and fishing ephemera). It's a great read and full of fantastic pics of classic tackle and contributions of many other authors and noted collectors. Not cheap at $80 hardbound, but a great add for those interested in fly fishing and fly tackle.

That’s a sweet book. Glad to see some of our great ORCA members in the publication.

BTW the late auctioneer guru Bob Lang, who is not pictured, was one of the 35 original club members as listed in the first newsletter.

Thanks for posting, John.
