Skakespeare questions

Post by snubnose57 »

Just got a model GE Criterion 1960. What is the knob on the upper right side of thee reel for?
Also, do these work OK with mono, or should I be looking for braided line? Thanks in advance.

The Knob you refer to is a brake or tensioner of sort for the Spool . The Lettering GE indicates that the reel first year of production was around 1946 The HE does not have that knob on it should you run across one .
There could be much debate on the type of line to use however on mine of that model I use all types of line .
Great reels in my opinion.
