Anyone interested in some research?

Post by Steve »

I ran across a reelmaking company in Indiana that I never heard of before. I've contacted a couple of libraries, including the Indiana State Library, but the only place that may have some additional records of it is the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne. :bash: Is there anyone in that area who might be interested in an hour or two's easy research there? Great chance to be immortalized in Reel News if you haven't had that opportunity yet. :yay Thanks!

Man, just spent a week in Ft. Wayne for the NFLCC Nationals & would have been happy to have undertaken the task.

I’m sure someone will step up but I suggest modifying the thread title to include the words “Ft. Wayne, Indiana research.”

Steve, what is the name of the company, I might have already undertaken that effort if it has anything to do with an Indiana style reel. Hope I can help.
I am looking for any Indiana style reels that I don't already have in my collection. I have all kinds of reels and lures and some cash to trade for the ones I need.

Dave, thanks for the reply. Sent you a PM with some info and my reasons for believing the company wasn't making Indiana-style reels. I wish I'd had this info before the NFLCC show, but serendipitous discoveries work in mysterious ways.

Making things even more mysterious, these are messages I received from the library:
7/28 - Yes, the following are the years we have on microfilm: 1901-1935 :yay

After I sent a request for specific info -
7/30 - We do not have any directories between 1909 and 1919. :bash:
