Marc reel

Post by mozarkjct@gmail.com »

Hello:
I just obtained a Marc reel and would like to know just a bit about it.
It has no line guide and has brass spokes.
I understand it was made at Nevada, Missouri. But when? And what does Marc stand for?
It looks like an abbreviation.
Thanks, Jim T.

Google it -- there is a ton of info on line
I love to get old reels, work on them until they run as smooth as silk and the take them fishing using pre-1960 plugs, mostly surface fishing for Largemouths after dark.

They were made by B & H Tool Co. Marc Reel Co was actually from Dexter, MO. Jim or Randy should be along pretty soon. They know a lot more about side mount reels than I. Supposedly, though, this ad was from 1947.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
