Since it is a “St. Louis,” don’t you mean “show us the arch?”

Re: The saint Louis on reel help
It looks like a Montague reel.
Re: The saint Louis on reel help
It looks so much like a Shakespeare Alamo (which also has the 60 for 60 yards stamped on the foot). If the St. Louis was made by Montague, so was the Alamo which I have suspected for a long time. The coin edge tail plate and handle nut are identical, as well as many other aspects. Many of the low priced Shakespeare reels just don’t look like Shakespeare products and parts.

Re: The saint Louis on reel help
The reel is a Montague and it was sold by Shapleigh Hardware of St. Louis.
Re: The saint Louis on reel help
Yes, I agree with Don. It's a Montague.

For more about Shapleigh Hardware, here is an earlier discussion:Don Champion wrote:The reel is a Montague and it was sold by Shapleigh Hardware of St. Louis.

Re: The saint Louis on reel help
Hey thanks everyone! Any ideas on a value on it?
Re: The saint Louis on reel help
This isn’t really the appraisal thread. Otherwise, that’s all we would discuss are values and not reel history. There is another thread for appraisals. See this link:Dustinherryhill wrote:Hey thanks everyone! Any ideas on a value on it?
