Pflueger supreme cub controls

Post by snubnose57 »

Just got this reel. On the right side, there is a knob with numbers under it. I guess this some kind of drag control.
On the same side, upper right of the handle, is a button that slides forward and back.
Does anyone know what the function of that button is?

The knob with the numbers is an antibacklash feature. The button that slides back and forth should reveal a hole that is a port to grease the gears. Past this explanation which fits the most common Supremes, we need a photo to refine any more comments.
I love to get old reels, work on them until they run as smooth as silk and the take them fishing using pre-1960 plugs, mostly surface fishing for Largemouths after dark.
