vintage japanese reels identification

Post by phishinphool »

I have these two vintage japanese reels that appear to be from the same manufacturer-both are heavy cast metal frame with brass looking spinner heads. One has gloria5r engraved in the top, the other has angel ab600 also engraved in the top--any information on maker, date, other "siblings",rarity and value would be greatly appreciated-- thank you

More than likely these are closed face push button Reels and made by Compac, Seico ,Daiwa ,Olympic or a hundred other Japan subsidiaries.
Here is a photo of your Angel AB 600 off e-bay .I can find NO Reference to the gloria
so post some pix to get better results like
Mr. Elder suggested

I just dug through some of my Japanese Reels and found this one .
Exact same reel as the Angel AB 600 but called Sport-Rite 464
Neat old reel with a thumb drag on one side and an anti reverse lever on the other .
Looks a lot like an early Garcia Abu push button spin cast of yester year
