Hardy spinning reel info. needed

Post by kevinhaney1 »

I would like to get one of the old Hardy Altex spinning reels for an old greenheart rod I have, but there are a lot of models and I don't really know what differentiates them. Are there any online resources that would explain what all of the different No.s and Marks mean? I'm looking for a smaller one that I could put some 6 lb. line on and fish for small bass.

There's a lot of discussion about Hardy Altex reels over here at the Traditional Fisherman. You should be able to find just about anything you want know there, including photos of the different versions.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
