Re: Anybody Know The Maker?
How does the clicker work on the reel? Straight movement of pawl by the button or via a lever and sliding or rotating clicker button??

Re: Anybody Know The Maker?
John,
The reel discussed above is the straight movement type pawl, shown below.
I have a second reel, similar style, with the same handle & grip, foot and serial #10 stamped on top of the foot. It has the clicker on the face that is a rotating 2-position pawl, like I think I've seen on other Malleson reels. Photos of this reel can be seen below.

Can't recall ever seeing a Mallesonistic rotating click on the tailplate of a reel.

So, are either of them Malleson? If not, any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Anybody Know The Maker?
My query related to the reel in this post, which is also marked on the top of the foot with the same “production #” that is scrawled inside. The PTB have declared this one JVH but I was struck by the similarity in markings that I have not noted as typical JVH.
