Penn longbeach 100 yd - How Rare? c1938
I have found a couple of the 250 yard model 60 but can not find a 100 yard model 61 online. Does anyone have one in their collection? The year with stunning marbleized (pre torpedo) knob and waffle clicker button. Thanks

Rare is a relative word. Let me say, any of the Pre-war Penn reels in the small under 250 yard sizes are Limited. They did not sell well, so adding one to a collection is always a Home Run. The Long Beach models are tough to find but some of the other obscure models are harder, Like the Bay Side or the Coronado and Ocean Side. Basically, anyone you find is a good thing.
The next three photos are a Long Beach Model 61, late 1930's.
This is a Model 62--150 yard Long Beach with the mid to late 1930's box.

About when did the reel name lettering on the box change from slanted to straight across like all the other text?
