I'll send a mystery tackle box to the first person who can correctly post the inventors name or patent numbers that matches these drawings. I primarily used Steve's latest reel patent book and Mary Kefover Kelly's rod patent book to find them. I recognized the Monnier's Bell alarm reel from the actual photo our Mr. Vernon has in his book, otherwise that one would have stumped me. Thanks for the game Jason!

Congrats, Jim...and thanks for the mention. I hope you and your competitors noticed that all of the drawings shown include ball handles. Collager-in-Chief Jason has generously agreed to take over the long-dormant ball-handle project, which was begun years ago in an attempt to create a database that would help collectors identify the gazillions of ball-handle reels that are unnamed or are marked only with retailer names. We're hoping that folks will be willing to add to the "library" of BH reels with photos of their acquisitions.
On another note: Although patent drawings may show reels with ball handles, in many cases production models of the inventions were constructed differently. The Boardman reel is an example.
