On of my favorite movies every year on St.Patrick’s day is John Wayne’s “The Quiet Man.” Shot on location in 1952 in Ireland, part of the plot is Father Lonergan attempting to catch a prized salmon. What reel was he using? I hope that a director as renowned as John Ford didn’t outfit the actor with an American fly reel, although it does look like a Pflueger Medalist...
