I just found this out: if you get an email (not an internal “private message”) via Reel Talk and the sender does not pay you the courtesy of providing a return email address, just hit “respond all” to visualize the sender’s true email address. Good to know.

Re: If you get an “email” via Reel Talk
Yes, that is the way that the Contact -> Mail function works in phpbb. It is specifically designed to relay an email to any registered member of Reel Talk. The sender of the email is the ORCA Reel Talk admin, but the return address is the member that sent the email. This enables anyone to email to a member without knowing their email address or exposing it to spammers. Almost all message boards operate this way, and really you should not expect a member sending an email to provide their email address, since it is in the message headers. Some message boards have disabled the Mail function and only allow PMs, but we have long supported this feature to connect members. If you are curious about SMTP headers, you can search that topic and find more info. Every email client also has the ability to view message email headers and see more about where the email originated and the sender and return email addresses. But hitting Reply All is the simple way to respond.
