new in box Airex Spinster

New to this forum and 1st post. Joined as I had just came across an unused, new in box, Airex Spinster 315. I am not a collector of old reels yet this one caught my eye as it was what I was taught to fish with close to 60 years ago by an uncle who had one. I purchased it more for nostalia sake than anything else. It is new, has all the paperwork , lube tins, box and some extras. The seller sold it to me for $25 so I figured I could not go too wrong. The reel appears to never even had line on. How might I can find the manufacture date? Are these collectable or just run of the mill old reels? Thanks for any comments or advice.

A couple of photos would help date it more precisely, but somewhere between 1950 & '54. Your purchase price is about right. They're not highly collectable, although unused in the box with those some is always a plus. Nice find.
