New Mitchell Reel Book-2021

Post by fishawks1 »

"The Early Years of the Mitchell Fishing Reel" by Rolands Babulis, and distributed by Bernard Caminade in France (a well known fishing reel book author) . 125 pages with abundant color photos. Now available on a limited basis. This is an in depth study that helps establish time lines for the earliest production of Mitchell reels. Mitchell Reel collectors should appreciate this work. The information here does not rely on speculation, hearsay or de facto information. This is a quality book. Contact information may be found by going to Mitchell Fishing Reel Group eBay, found by doing an internet search. Or use these links:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Mitchell- ... -100004012

https://picclick.it/New-Book-Old-Vintag ... 74529.html

I sent emails to Dr. Todd and Ron Gast that were direct announcements, to me with pictures, prices, etc. from Bernard Caminade about this book. I wish these could somehow be posted on this site, but I am out of the loop here. Otherwise you could PM these individuals about it.

Dan

Dan,
Sorry, but there have been some policies implemented for member and board security since you were last active. Users should be encouraged to contact you through the board's PM or private email utility.

Brian, How is one supposed to give out information on how to get a newly published book? I see the email link was removed from my post. Dan

Dan, anyone can email you by pressing the email button on the Contact icon on the right hand side. We constantly remind people that the board has this functionality built in. This feature is easy to use and we encourage everyone to use it.

I tried to email Dan about buying a copy of this book but haven't heard back. Are we sure the system is working?

I am very confident the Contact links functions well. I personally use them and ORCA relies on the mail servers for daily ecommerce. The main issue with any email contact is the responsiveness and awareness of the person receiving the email. Many people do not regularly use and check email, or do not respond in a timely fashion. There is also the issue around SPAM filters that is universal with email communications.

The best publicity for a book is a web link to an ecommerce site, which Ron provided.

I've sent Dan an email through the system as well as a DM about buying the book. Hopefully I'll hear back.

Thank you Dr. Todd. How do you track what PM's I have sent? Also, what does DM represent? Dan

Private Message, Direct Message are synonyms. Reel talk uses the term Private Message. When you log in, there is a link on the top right of the page that give you Notifications and Private Messages. You can view the PMs to see if they are sent and received by the party. You cannot tell if they are read by the party. You can view the entire message thread history.

Just got my copy in the mails, took less than three weeks. Not bad. Will read it and put up my thoughts in a separate post in a bit.
