J W YOUNG & SONS Beaudex

Post by Clint »

Any Beaudex experts out there? I’d like to figure out the year this may have been made. Are there any parts out there available or just hit eBay?

The Young Valdex has the month/year stamped inside but I think the Beaudex needs more analysis. I fish with a 3" wide Beaudex that was converted to LHW for me and it's a sweet little reel, from the late 1940s, I believe.

Let me guess. You need a latchcap. You may be better off trying to find a donor reel.
This one was on ebay:

Sorry I'm late.
Your reel with that finish was made in a narrow window, late '46 to about '48.
Here's a cherry.

You can get the aftermarket parts from Garry Mills in UK, former line supervisor at Redditch.

Thanks for your input!
