Spectaular is a word that does not really do justice to the M&M #7. It is rare and unusual and historical. These are museum pieces, rarely seen. Thanks Bill for sharing.

Glad to hear they will be preserved for the future. Tons of history there! Congratulations
Re: This Was a Really Good Week
That’s a big responsibility, Bill, and no doubt you are up to the task of safeguarding that unique history and sharing it with collectors. As this thread shows, the Treadway family made a wise decision.
Congratulations,
Mike N.
PS
Any info about the brass Horton Mfg. Co. name plaque in the photo (where and when was it hung?) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: This Was a Really Good Week
Bill, I am glad we both had a great week in reel collecting. However, I also had an opportunity to fish for smallmouths.
Re: This Was a Really Good Week
This sign and a companion sign (which resides at the Bristol Historical Society) hung outside the plant on either side of the entrance. You can't see it in the picture, but it is inscribed with the years 1888-1925 on the bottom. We believe that it was mounted at the plant from around 1925 until it closed in 1952.Any info about the brass Horton Mfg. Co. name plaque in the photo (where and when was it hung?) would be appreciated.
When I get the display reconfigured, that sign behind the Horton reels is going to be downright sexy. I was over the moon to be able to acquire it.

Fantastic additions! Almost speechless to add such a group to a proper home.....now to let go of the lesser items to recoup some funds..... I'm sure it wasn't cheap but you do what you have to do. Seldom does such an opportunity arises. Tight Lines Nick n NY... Holzman reel collector

Re: This Was a Really Good Week
So I finally mustered up the nerve to clean the Meek 0 today. The most nerve wracking 90 minutes I have had in quite some time, but pretty happy with the results.

Nice. I like how you are going easy, but you may as well get the final spots out. You are obviously being very careful and respectful.
