Just wanted to say hi.

Post by Crappie54 »

New guy here. Couple of weeks ago I picked up a Pflueger 1893L at a flea market and started using it. My friend called and said he was going to an estate sale and said they advertised a Rocket 1375. I asked him to buy it for me while I was in Florida. He called me and said he bought me a lot of reels with 21 reels in the box for $150.00. When I came home he brought it over to me and it had the following reels in it:

3 Zebco cardinal 4 reels - 2 are like new and one has the bail plate screw and spring missing
1 Zebco cardinal 3 reel - it works great with lotsa battle scratches on it
1 NIB Pflueger Supreme with all papers and parts
1 Supreme well used but in great working order
1 Summit used but with box, bag, papers
1 Nobby used
1 Akron 1983L used
1 Akron 1983 used
1 Trump used
1 Diawa 7150 HRL ( Love Diawa reels)
1 Shakespeare 2065
1 Johnson Century 100-A

I gave him the rest of the push button reels. How did I do for 150 bucks?

The Zebco Cardinals, alone, are worth more than that. You did just fine.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)

Agree with Tommy, that was a really good buy. The Summits are popular reels and any NIB Pflueger reel is a decent find, but those Cardinals are the best of the bunch.
Wanted: Horton, Bristol & Meek reels, reel boxes, and catalogs!!!!

Welcome aboard, Crappie54.

The first rule of collecting reels is that if you like just looking at it and spinning the handle when you get it home, you bought the reel right regardless of how much or how little you paid.
