Going salmon fishing

Post by SilasTerry »

Ok, gearing up for Naugatuck River Atlantic Salmon. Have my 12 ft two handed Spey rod, flies, and sink-tip line, just need to decide which salmon reel to use. EVH, Philbrook and Paine, Leonard/JVH, or Stan Bogdan? Or maybe I’ll just leave the old timers alone and go with the Sci Anglers System 2 in the foreground. :D

Sounds and looks like an adventure memorialized in an article in Sporting Classics.

Very nice!

You need a vintage Hardy Cascapedia. Seriously, it’s hard to beat a Bogdan. I’ve used my Pate on the Miramichi with no problems. I wouldn’t try a click drag though. It might just disintegrate before your eyes. Anti-reverse will prevent broken fingers too.
