I picked this ash tray stand up today at a flea market for $40. It looks like it’s from a hotel lobby and has an Art Deco look. The marking on the bottom is “M.S.L. 1530.” Any idea of a source to identify the maker?
Thanks
Maker of this Art Deco lobby ashtray?

Hey Mike, I believe your neat ashtray was made by the Mutual Sunset Lamp Company in Brooklyn, New York.
There are many Art Deco lamps attributed to that company on the net, but ashtrays seem to be rare.
All you need now is a fat stogie.
Check out the base of this planter on eBay for example; it's stamped "M.S.L.".
