If your reel has bright red sideplates, Penn made those reels until quite recently, perhaps 10 years ago; if the sideplates are dark red, it may be 20 or 30 years old. If you open the reel and check the clicker you can get more information: If the clicker tongue and spring are attached with screws, it is a newer model. Whatever the case, your reel is a fisher, not really a collector.
