Wanted - New nickel plated screws
Hi there fellow ORCAns,
Does anyone know where to obtain nickel plated brass screws for reels? In particular, slotted 3-48 fillister, 2-56 round head, and 3-48 round head screws?
I have been able to track down some nickel plated stainless steel and all stainless steel screws, but they don't quite match the originals.
Thanks!
George

Here are a couple of suppliers:

https://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/S ... -10000.htm
You'll probably have to have the screws plated. In my experience, the fillister heads in these wee sizes are the toughest to find. At least you're not looking for nickel silver.

Thanks Steve and Don. It amazes me that they aren't produced any more. Yes, it might be time to try some electroplating. Reminds me of my 4th grade science fair project!
Cheers,

My science fair project demonstrated that rounding the corners of newly-invented wheels, which were square at the time, would help them roll more smoothly.4th grade science fair project

Re: Wanted - New nickel plated screws
That's pretty good Steve
I have located some 3-48 size nickel plated brass fillister head screws. Supplier will also provide freshly nickel plated brass round head screws in 3-48 and 2-56. Some nickel silver screws are also available, but not sure which sizes are needed. Let me know and I will ask. I will post details on how to order soon.
Cheers,
George
