The line residue on this reel was just about the worst I had ever seen and once I got it all off (with rubbing alcohol) the spool was loaded with scratches. Thankfully they were not deep and came out with light wet-sanding ...which of course put a zillion very light scratches in the soft aluminum that I removed with a toothbrush and some Noxon.

All other metal parts were rough cleaned with Noxon and then final cleaned with Flitz. The back plate was already gorgeous, so I left it as is. The front plate was dull and had a very slight touch of browning, which I cleared up with Flitz.

So, I now have a collection of two reels.

It's growing like wild fire ...totally out of control !

Dean.

ps: Sorry the pictures are all different sizes ...I didn't bother to size them. The "before" pictures are by the seller.

Nice (as usual), Dean. What will you use to fill in one of those doubly-struck patent dates?
