As promised here are the photos. One interesting thing to me was that the interior surface was marked with the number 17 as was one of the removable gears. Does anyone have a guess as to whether the number represents a size or a serial number?

Thanks for those pics...pretty basic configuration that was often used in these early reels. You had your work cut out for you! Nice job!
Those numbers on the parts have been discussed often on the board and are generally considered production numbers of some sort that either id,d a particular worker or to make sure all parts matched a reel if it came back for repairs. You can find such numbers in virtually every one of these older reels.
