Boy...sure would help to see a pic or two, in order to see how much cleaning it may need. Or maybe a description of the level of dirt and crud.

I wouldn't do anything more than a mild dish soap and warm water. As noted many times Dawn dish soap cuts grease better than any others. Then a really good drying.

An old toothbrush makes a great tool, for a bath like this one. Have fun!

Gerry...if you have some good screwdrivers, you might want to take it apart after washing and dry it out and add lube. However, you can probably do enough lube thru the bearing caps if there is any threat of buggering those screws.

Better yet, leave it as-is...and sell it to me! :D

Polished Kentucky reels hide replaced parts and I look at them more than twice before acquiring. It evidently takes a very trained eye to spot replaced parts...or shill bidding on ebay is worse than I thought.
