Another pflueger job

Post by Mike Franzen »

This assembly appears to be held together by a pin. The small hole doesn't go all the way through the shaft. How do you remove the pin (if that's what is in there) to separate the two pieces? This is from a Templar 1419 3/4. Thank you in advance

This thing had years of grease and oil caked inside and out. Not that pretty on the outside but almost perfect on the inside. She cleaned up pretty good I think. How's it look to you?

Good question about the pin! Reel cleaned up pretty good. You can polish out the parts more to even out the appearance but looks fine as is.

Mike,
Instead of a pin it could be a threaded screw . Clean the hole and get some light on it.

Ok I'll try that when I get home tonight. Brian, I'm going to do some polishing on my next project. Thanks for the encouragement.

SWAG = oil port/passage?
As I see it that part fits over the shaft on the bridge assy. so there can't be anything going through there.

John Elder, in my previous post, suggested removing the pin or screw to separate the two pieces

Mike,
Can you show photos of both end views and one from the side opposite the hole? That would help a lot for those of us that don't have a similar reel or assembly.

Here's the best I can do as the reel is all buttoned up. Those two small holes don't line up. One is threaded for a small screw and the other is the mystery. The screw in the top of the stack holds it together.
