Rod restoration info. wanted
Can anyone recommend some good information (either online or book) that shows how to restore old rods, both fiberglass and bamboo? I want to learn things like how to re-wrap guides, fix handles and tips, varnishing, etc. Thanks in advance!

If you can find a copy of Michael Sinclair's bamboo rod restoration, it's a great start ... there are a couple of copies on amazon.
There's a Vintage Fishing Rod Restoration by Paul Duffield, which I know nothing about.
After 50 + restorations my best recommendation is pick up some early montagues or heddons and give it a go, it's not going to make you any $ but it will give you the practice.

Kevin,
This site might be of more help. They have rod building and restoration sections with many helpful folks.

Kevin, it depends on what you're trying to achieve, just like reel restoration the part availability depends on the production numbers. If 1 million were produced, parts will be far easier to find than a rod with a total production of 100 or less. You'll have to make parts or find some one who can in some instances. Most rod parts are simpler than reel parts.

I was just talking about things like guides, wrapping threads, varnish, etc. I was thinking there must be a supply house for such things.
