This is a group of UK reels, some of which are marked, most are not. My mercenary side has always left them on the back of the shelf, since they rarely bring high $ on this side of the pond. However, they are really beautiful , well-made reels and when i get one, i just can’t let it go for no more than they bring. So, after accumulating them for 20 years, its starting to look like a bonifide collection that deserves more attention! I’m starting to love ‘em!

Like those Kentucky style reels
Re: One of my “Accidental” Collections
That’s a nice little collection. I had one once, very heavy and well built. They are nice old pieces when you stop to appreciate them.

John I am not much of a fly reel guy but the old brass and aluminum picks up a nice patina along with the rubber side plates and little ivory looking knobs !! Nice heard !! JT

Very nice, John. I love watching an old movie that has a fly fishing scene set in Scotland or elsewhere in Europe. For what British reels sometimes lack in variety, they typically make up for in patina and workmanship. To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw, the US and Britain are two countries separated by a common love of reel making.
