Brass Reel

I purchased a unmarked brass reel. I would appreciate any information, such as year made, who made it. Any help would be great appreciated.

Regardless it needed a good cleaning, thank you in advance.

It's almost impossible to make a call on who made an unmarked ball handle brass reel....so few "tells" to go by. About all I see that stands out is the handle where the grasp attaches; the handle is typically flat on both sides where the screw goes through in the ones that I have handled. here's a pic of a Conroy handle missing grasp:


Whether this handle is original or remade is unclear. Regardless, it's a nice piece of jewelry for your collection...nice job!
