A little girl, a vintage Jitterbug, and a really big bass.

Great story, Todd!...an experience that she'll alway remember and some day tell stories to her own children about fishing trips with her Dad.

Dr. Todd:

Beautifully written. Your daughter will have these memories to cherish and pass on for generations to come. And I'm sure that her grandparnts are proud of their son for passing on the love of fishing that you enjoyed as a boy.

Our daughter, who has two grown children of her own, still fondly remembers our family camping and trout fishing outings when she was about the same age as your daughter. Good for you, and keep it going.

Very cool story Dr. Todd and she will be hooked for life. I would give back every single one of the fish that I've ever caught to see my kids' smile after catching a fish. The window for these kinds of experiences seems so small but they never forget! Thanks for sharing the story.

Thanks for sharing, that's what it's all about. Brian's right in that it is a very small window in time and they will never forget the experience. In the process they learn to understand our passion for fishing and vintage tackle.

Dr. Todd, our photos in our posts were taken a short distance apart.
We were on Dead Lake last week.

Dead Lake? Haven't fished it...and its only about 10 miles from my father-in-law's place! Do you fish there often?

We like the area and fish several of local lakes. We really enjoy Ice fishing on Dead and have caught several nice fish over the years.

up until just a few years ago, the biggest bass I had caught was 6-1/2 lbs, Memorial Day '77, on a black jitterbug.
