Great day Bass Fishing!

Post by john elder »

Got on the water before 6 AM with fellow ORCAn Dave Gaustad yesterday. Twas a balmy 68 degrees then and beautiful but we decided it was enough at 10 AM when it hit 92. Dave caught twice as many as me, as usual, but i was happy with 10 bass between 2-4 lb and two bluegill, all caught and safely released. I did, however bring home the largest catch of the day:

Caught on a single hook drop-shot... nailed it right in the tip guide! What are the odds on that??!

And after a good bath and lube, has been added to the rack of rods and reels that i don’t get to use enough!

Only a member of ORCA would go bass fishing and catch a rod and reel. Nicely done, John!

Nice catch John. I believe thats the same reel I usually use myself. Great reel for the money, when you want something less than 100 years old.

Pflueger President on a Berkeley rod. Wish it had been a Stella, but it does run smoothly and will serve well till I drop it back in the Lake! :D

Didn’t know those outfits were indigenous to those waters. I had a Van Staal on a Star rod go overboard on me a few years back, perhaps you can come out here and land it for me some day.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?
