After four unsuccessful trips to the Snake River I decided to make sure I could still catch a fish, so this morning the Rubber Reel Lady and I journeyed to a local gravel pond. Success - I caught a bunch of bluegills, pumpkinseed, and a trout. All were caught on my float and fly rig, using a bobber and worms. It was a lot of fun and a trip like this sure brings back old memories.
This afternoon I decided to run down to the river for another try. Today, I finally brought up a few of the "pound for pound..." I caught a pair of beautiful smallmouth of 16 and 17 inches. They didn't fight like they will in a few months, but it sure was fun.
My absence from this message board in the future can be tied to warming water temperatures.
Finally...
