I have to agree with you. It placed second when I chose the Shake. One of the first reels I collected and still have them.

OK, since most people are playing more than once, I like ABL - it works (unlike the Redifor casting brake, which is just a casting hindrance)

But the funnest variation on this idea is the Allcocks Easicast, built by Young.

I actually haven't taken it fishing, but I have a Stephenson 7' cane spinning rod with small agates, and it's a hoot to chunk a half-ounce out to 150' with this under-the-rod casting reel.
